In a committed citizen approach, the company has identified pollution sources that may harm the human and natural environment and implemented appropriate pollution control systems and equipment. The goal is to minimize impacts and ensure that battery production and distribution are conducted with absolute respect for the environment, complying with current national and international standards.

Certification to ISO 14001 in March 2000 marked the culmination of this ongoing effort and established a framework for continuous improvement in the environmental field. Within this framework, numerous initiatives are undertaken at the production units, featuring a series of in-depth actions and innovative measures.

A water treatment plant

Treatment and control of wastewater; Compliance with the NT 106.002 standard on water discharges.

A lead oxide collection and reuse system at the pelletizing stage

Instantaneous recycling of lead oxides in the process (150 tons per year), saving 5,000 m³ of water annually.

Protection of the integrity of the premises and the groundwater

Anti-acid treatment of all exposed soils with a drainage system and transfer to the treatment plant.

Aspiration and filtration of lead dust using dry filters and washing towers

Protection of personnel and workstations: Capture of 3 tons of lead per year that would otherwise have spread into the atmosphere.

A machine to save 30% of the water used for washing plates

Reduction by one-third of the water consumption for washing plates and recovery of acid for recycling.

An acid dilution station

Reduction of washing water consumption by one-third and recovery of acid for recycling.

Implementation of an osmosis system allowing the production of demineralized water without the use of hydrochloric acid or caustic soda

Elimination of the consumption of 5 to 10 tonnes per year of caustic soda and hydrochloric acid, depending on the activity.

Installation of a filter press to reduce the volume of sludge from the treatment plant

Reduction of 40% in the volume of sludge from the treatment plant.

A laundry equipped for cleaning the staff's work clothes

Prevent the spread of lead pollution among workers; Treatment of lead-contaminated wash water in the wastewater treatment plant.

Cooling and reuse in a closed-loop system of hot process waters (three cooling towers)

Water conservation in machine cooling systems operating in a closed loop. The water is cooled in the tower and then reintroduced into the cooling circuit.
